Divorce Counseling

Going through a divorce is incredibly stressful. Whether it was your choice or not, life may look and feel very different now. There are a lot of decisions to make, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the options in front of you. On top of that, you might be getting a flood of advice—some helpful, some not so much.

In one-on-one divorce counseling, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and work through difficult emotions like anger, sadness, anxiety, guilt, rejection or depression. When these feelings are left unaddressed, they can resurface later in ways that negatively impact your life and relationships.

Divorce counseling empowers you to reclaim your life by guiding you through the grieving process and helping you heal from the loss of your marriage. It also gives you the insight to understand what may have contributed to the relationship’s breakdown, so you can grow and build healthier connections in the future.

One of the most difficult challenges in divorce can be knowing how to support your children through it. It’s important to create a stable and secure environment for them while remaining open to their feelings and challenges.  I have helped many clients navigate this road with success and confidence.

Therapy provides a safe space to process your emotions in a healthy, constructive way—helping you move through the pain and begin the journey forward.  If that sounds like something that might benefit you, consider starting counseling today.

If you are looking for more targeted help with the logistics of divorce, brief solution-based assistance to help you navigate the legal, financial and parenting decisions during a divorce, I also provide divorce coaching. To learn more, please visit me here.

FAQ

FAQ

How is divorce counseling different from divorce coaching?

Divorce counseling focuses on emotional healing and mental health support, while coaching focuses on guidance, skills, and practical steps through the divorce process. Many individuals benefit from using one or both services depending on their needs. One key difference is that divorce coaches cannot be reimbursed by insurance companies. If you are looking for divorce coaching, please visit my coaching website here.

The focus of divorce counseling is on helping clients navigate the end of a relationship with clarity, emotional support, and intentional decision-making, whether that involves staying together or separating. Counseling can help individuals process emotions, communicate more effectively, reduce conflict, and navigate the transition in a way that is as respectful and stable as possible.

When children are involved, divorce counseling can support co-parenting relationships and help you make decisions that prioritize your children’s well-being.
