Genuine Growth Therapy

About Me

therapist Cindy Bouchard

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#SWI.LW.70003921) in the state of Washington.

I have a diverse professional background in counseling, coaching, technology and management that has shaped my approach to therapy and has made me in tune with people in many fields.

Despite the twists and turns in my career path, I feel the most alive and at home in my role as a therapist. I have also greatly benefited from my own therapy. Coming to a deeper understanding about the parts of me that needed attention and healing has brought a sense of inner peace and self-compassion. It’s from that place that I offer an exploratory space to my clients for their inner growth and journey.

I am the mom to two wonderful teenagers and love helping parents deal with the complexities of life with kids.

Education

I hold a Master’s of Social Work from Arizona State University. I have received level one training from the Gottman Institute and extensive training in Internal Family Systems and am now an IFS Informed therapist. I am also an accredited divorce coach and a trained mediator.

Working with me

I enjoy working with adult individuals and couples, supporting them through relational challenges (such as miscommunication, attachment style differences, and parenting), life transitions (including retirement and career changes, divorce, or becoming parents), struggles with anxiety and depression, and identity exploration. I have a special passion for working with women and LGBTQ+ individuals.

In the therapy room, clients have described me as warm and compassionate. I love to bring humor into the sessions when appropriate.  I strive to be fully present and engaged in each session, honoring our unique therapeutic relationship and space.

Having compassion for yourself means that you honor and accept your humanness.
